Courage & Courtesy

Courage and Courtesy, the ethos of Dinner Clubs.

It takes great courage to walk into a venue to meet with strangers for lunch or dinner; that is why it is so important to remember you are all in the same boat, you are all brave and looking to enjoy some conversation with strangers, who may turn into friends. Holding that safe space for each other, to just ‘show up’ say hi, and let natural engagement flow, demonstrates a level of maturity and emotional intelligence from the offset.

That safe space includes the courtesy of not putting somebody else on the spot, or in a difficult position of exchanging numbers. You may feel a connection, but they may not, we can all read situations differently, and so Dinner Clubs enables you to meet each other without exchanging contact details. Meetings are in a public place, not in private homes, and we would ‘encourage’ further contact to be initiated by asking us to pass on your number AFTER the event.

When you join you have stipulated your basic preferences, such as age range, sex, and area, but you can update us with your preferences at any time. You can also give names of people you DON’T want to have dinner with, if you are nervous of an ex, or work colleague you despise! We want to help you meet new people, make new friends, have a giggle, enjoy lunch, or dinner, see what you have in common, or not! and walk away with zero pressure to stay in touch.

It is GREAT when you meet people who you bond with, male or female, but we live in a world where ‘real’ in concealed.

Let’s wind back the clock, let’s be courageous and courteous. Let’s look forward to getting dressed up, and heading out to meet people.
